Chapter 81 - Rules (not a chapter)

(Readers who are willing and interested to read the rules of the game can read the chapter because this is not a chapter. But remember jay and Julian have told the rules of these games to section E,girls and keifer!)

1. swimming:

▪️ Swimmers must remain motionless on the starting block or in the water after the command until the signal (buzzer/whistle) sounds. A false start results in immediate disqualification.

▪️A swimmer must stay in their assigned lane for the entire race and finish in that same lane. In addition, swimmers cannot pull on lane ropes or walk on the bottom of the pool.

▪️Must touch the end of the pool or else disqualified.

2. polo

▪️ This is the most crucial rule. An imaginary line is created by the path of the traveling ball. The player who last struck the ball, or is following its path, has the "right of way," and opponents cannot safely cross this line.

▪️Players are allowed to challenge an opponent by "riding him off," which involves pushing their pony shoulder-to-shoulder against an opponent's to nudge them away from the ball. This must be done at a safe angle and not from behind, which would be dangerous.

▪️To avoid dangerous head-on collisions, players are required to hold the mallet in their right hand only. This means all shots on the left side of the horse (nearside) must be executed by leaning over the horse.

▪️ Teams change ends every time a goal is scored, regardless of which team scored it. This rule, dating back to colonial India, ensures that no team holds a long-term advantage from wind or field conditions.

3. Tennis:

▪️A match is usually decided by best-of-three sets. To win a set, you need at least six games, winning by a two-game margin. If the score reaches 6-6, a tie-break is played to decide the set.

▪️A ball that touches any part of the boundary line is considered "in" or good. This applies to both serves and rallies.

▪️A player must hit the ball before it bounces twice on their side of the court. The ball can be hit before it bounces (a volley) or after one bounce.

▪️You cannot touch the net, cross the net, or lose your racket during a point, or you automatically lose the point. Additionally, any loud intentional noise or distraction (hindrance) to the opponent is illegal

4. Archery (rules explained on previous chapter)

5. Fencing:

▪️Before and after every bout, fencers must salute their opponent, the referee, and the audience. Failure to do so, or demonstrating poor sportsmanship (like refusing to shake hands), can result in a penalty, yellow card, or even disqualification (black card)

▪️Points are awarded by hitting designated area (Épée, Sabre)

▪️In foil and sabre, the "right-of-way" rule dictates who gets the point if both fencers land hits simultaneously. The referee awards the point to the fencer who initiated the attack first, or to the defender who successfully parried the attack and initiated a riposte (counter-attack). Épée does not use right-of-way; the first to land a touch gets the point.

▪️Time limit 3minute

6. chess (I'm pretty sure most of you know since it's popular!)

7. golf:

▪️You must not improve your lie, the area of your intended swing, or your line of play by moving, bending, or breaking anything growing or fixed.

▪️You must be able to identify your ball. Playing a wrong ball in stroke play results in a two-stroke penalty, and you must correct the mistake.

▪️In stroke play, you must ensure your scorer accurately records your strokes for each hole. When taking relief, you must drop the ball from knee height within a designated relief area

8. Music (no plagiarism)

9. croquet (guys this game rules is kind of hard to understand so...I'll just write this games in the chapter)

10. risk - a board game

▪️2 teams (2 player)

▪️At the beginning of each turn, you receive troops based on: ( Territories Controlled, Continent Bonus, Card Trading)

▪️Attackers roll up to 3 dice, defenders up to 2, using the highest dice to compare. Attackers need at least 4 armies to use 3 dice

▪️In the case of a tie, the defender wins.

11. Quizz (you know the rules of quizzes besties)

12. Billiards:

▪️For a shot to be legal, the cue ball must contact a ball from your assigned group first

▪️In most professional and league competitions, a foul results in "ball-in-hand" for the opponent. This means the incoming player can place the cue ball anywhere on the table, not just behind the head string.

▪️To begin the game, the breaking player must execute a legal break.
