Lucian felt relieved when his wife took the news better than he had expected. He hadn't wanted to disappoint her, but at the same time, he knew it was necessary to tell her.
After everything that had happened, he realized there was no way he could stop his wife from doing what she was good at—what she had grown accustomed to doing. All he could do was minimize the danger and trust that his wife was also his partner.
With that, the two cuddled and rested until the plane landed.
Before they could leave, however, Ashley spoke.
"We have to tell Uncle Tom."
Lucian hesitated. "What if he believes the first result?"
Ashley looked up and hummed thoughtfully. When she returned her gaze to him, she smiled.
"I doubt it." Her smile widened until it revealed her teeth. "He might be retired, but after everything that has happened, I understand why someone would be interested in him."
Lucian smiled in defeat. "Whatever you say."
"Haha. Let's go."
