Orion's authoritative voice suddenly rang across the execution grounds.
The guards instinctively loosened their hold on Finn for a brief moment upon hearing the King's arrival.
"Ouch! My head hurts..." Finn murmured under his breath as a sharp pain shot through his head, forcing him to grab the back of his neck while struggling to open his eyes. "What the fuck happened to me?"
After a few moments of battling the throbbing pain, he finally managed to pry his eyes open. The first faces that greeted him were Lia's and Mia's, both standing so close to the bed that he nearly jumped.
"Oh my goodness!" Finn shouted in surprise, instinctively jerking backward. "You both startled me! Why are you standing so close? Have you been watching me sleep or what?"
"Do you feel better now, Your Highness?" Mia asked softly, sadness and worry evident in her voice.
