Crack!
"What's wrong with you?"
Rock Spear, his judgment clouded by excruciating pain, frowned and barked at the Leyndell Knight who had suddenly frozen in his tracks.
The knight stood like a statue, paralyzed. Through the slit of his visor, his eyes were wide with terror, and cold sweat dripped down his face.
In his vision, Mohg's aura and form had shifted entirely. A metallic, sickening scent of blood radiated from him, thick enough to induce nausea. Mohg's silhouette seemed to expand, looming over the battlefield like a colossal shadow of darkness.
Mohg stared back with crimson eyes. It wasn't just raw terror or revulsion that radiated from him; there was a touch of the sublime, an aura of divinity.
The knight had only felt this kind of presence from one other person: the Eternal Queen, Marika!
The moment the two enemies faltered, Mohg thrust his right hand high into the air. A scarlet mist swept across half the battlefield in an instant, accompanied by the exotic, heavy fragrance of Bloodroses. The blood soaking the earth began to pool and flow as if it had gained a life of its own, converging toward him.
This sudden phenomenon left both the Golden Order and Carian forces in a state of bewildered shock.
Rock Spear finally snapped out of his daze. He swallowed hard, and a desperate thought took hold in his mind: Mohg was clearly performing a ritual. He had to be at his most vulnerable right now. Therefore...
"Wait—!"
Feeling a gust of wind beside him, the Leyndell Knight realized Rock Spear was making a move. His eyes bugged out as he watched his comrade charge blindly into the blood-red mist.
Before Rock Spear could even fully enter the haze, a massive hand covered in black scales lunged out and seized him by the throat.
Boom!
A thunderous explosion erupted in front of the Leyndell Knight. A shockwave dispersed the surrounding mist, revealing hundreds of blood-red figures standing behind the central shadow.
At the front stood a towering figure clad in what looked like living red armor. He wore a magnificent robe of interweaving black and red over a suit of black scales. A black helm completely concealed his face, save for a pair of glowing crimson eyes and a set of demonic, curving horns that swept toward the sky.
Blood-red hair fluttered behind him, and a pair of black wings, wreathed in an ominous red aura, were tucked tightly against his back.
Feeling the struggle of the man in his grip, Mohg glanced at him with cold indifference. His hand tightened.
Bloodflame ignited instantly. Without a single cry of agony or a plea for mercy, Rock Spear was reduced to a blackened, mummified husk in seconds.
Thud.
Mohg tossed the corpse aside and spread his arms, slowly savoring the power coursing through his veins.
The manifold Aspects of the Crucible, the essence of sorcery, the potency of Blood Incantations, the weight of Faith—and finally, the power of a Great Rune—all converged within him to create this state!
In this moment, however temporary it might be, he possessed the combat power to stand at the very pinnacle of the Lands Between!
Boom!
Mohg snapped his black wings open. A ripple of black-red energy swept outward. With a resonant dragon's roar, the form of Lansseax suddenly manifested upon the battlefield.
In Mohg's hand, the black-and-red Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear appeared.
Slowly, Mohg raised the weapon and pointed it toward the Golden Order host.
"Proclaim it to the world! The birth of the Mohgwyn Dynasty!"
"Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!"
"Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!"
Empowered by the blood mist, his followers let out ecstatic war cries. Like a crimson tide, they charged recklessly into the Golden Order lines, completely unafraid of death.
Mohg beat his wings, soaring into the sky before diving straight toward Radagon's location.
That was the battlefield where he truly belonged!
The moment Mohg's powerful aura erupted, Radagon, Rennala, and the others immediately took notice.
Realizing the situation, Rennala's lips curled into a faint smile. She had a good idea of whose handiwork this was.
In contrast to Rennala's lightened mood, Radagon's thoughts were far more turbulent.
The powerful aura of an Outer God filled him with rage, but the incredibly dense presence of the Crucible and—more importantly—the Great Rune that shone as bright as a sun in the darkness left him reeling.
As he focused his senses, he felt a pull of shared blood. There was no mistake. The person before him was his—or her—offspring. One of the two Omen twins!
This realization brought Radagon both a sense of profound shame and extreme shock.
The shame came from his position as the most loyal adherent to the Golden Order; yet here was a direct blood relative acting as a traitor and a destroyer of that very Order.
The shock came from the sheer power Mohg displayed. Radagon had spent untold ages tempering the power he held in his current body; this child had been born only years ago, yet already possessed the strength of a demigod.
This level of talent sent a shiver of dread through him.
Furthermore, for this child to grow to such heights without making a sound, and to have established such a deep connection with the Formless Mother...
This child must be eliminated!
With that thought, Radagon's eyes filled with murderous intent.
Simultaneously, through Radagon's eyes, Marika—far away in the Mountaintops of the Giants—witnessed Mohg's form and power.
Unlike Radagon's singular drive to kill, Marika's feelings toward Mohg were truly complex.
In the end, all her emotions dissolved into a single sigh. After that sigh, she suppressed all her stray thoughts and returned to her persona as the high and mighty Eternal Queen.
Beside her, Godfrey sensed a shift in Marika's demeanor. He glanced at her briefly before returning his attention to the generals, continuing to discuss the campaign against the Giants.
Back in Liurnia, Mohg's assault arrived!
A streak of scarlet appeared on the horizon, expanding at a terrifying speed in Radagon's vision.
Understanding Mohg's target, Rennala swept her staff and dissolved into starlight, retreating from the immediate combat zone.
The next second, the red meteor crashed into the earth. The golden hammer and the red trident collided with a deafening bang.
A monstrous force hammered against Radagon's weapon, forcing him to slide backward over a hundred meters, carving deep grooves into the soil.
Bloodflame Talon!
The moment he stopped his momentum, Mohg's left hand snapped out, fingers rigid like a blade. Scarlet flames coated his hand as he clawed through the air, leaving trail after trail of red fire across Radagon's vision.
Boom!
As the flames detonated, Radagon retreated and swept his hand. Several streaks of golden light flew out, exploding in front of Mohg to kick up a screen of dust.
But Mohg had no intention of letting his father escape. His Sacred Spear, wreathed in bloodflame, lunged through the dust. Before Radagon could counter, an Aspect of the Crucible: Tail whipped out from behind Mohg, slamming toward him.
Hard-pressed, Radagon's brow furrowed. He clenched his empty left hand, and a translucent golden hammer materialized within it.
Whoosh—
Radagon's eyes widened as his counter-swing hit nothing but air. Mohg's lips pulled back in a grin, revealing white teeth.
At the last possible second, just as the Crucible Tail was about to hit the hammer, Mohg had canceled the attack!
Crack!
Radagon's guard was broken by the feint. In that instant, his center was wide open.
Mohg seized the opening with a flick of his wrist. The trident, which had just bypassed Radagon's defense, pivoted mid-air and slammed into Radagon's side.
Bang!
Youth has no price... and I'm using mine to beat the hell out of my... Dad? Mom? Whatever, hit first, ask later!
Radagon took the full force of the blow and was sent flying like a cannonball. Mohg snapped his wings and gave chase.
High in the air, Mohg beat his wings toward the falling Radagon.
Swish-swish-swish!
Countless razor-sharp feathers, wreathed in bloodflame, turned into streaks of red light, raining down on Radagon.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Below, bursts of golden light flared repeatedly as Radagon used Golden Retaliation to deflect the incoming projectiles.
"Queen Rennala! Aid me in slaying this heretic, and the Erdtree shall grant your demands!" Radagon shouted as he stood upright, sweeping his hand to release golden shockwaves that knocked the remaining feathers from the sky.
Both Mohg and Rennala paused. Mohg cast a wary glance toward Rennala.
He knew what Rennala's original goal had been.
Rennala sank into thought. Strength had been demonstrated, and interests were now aligned. Accepting Radagon's proposal was, logically, the best solution.
However... that was based on the assumption that she didn't know who the man before her was. Now, she knew this "Lord of Blood" was actually Gwyn, the Carian Knight who had once served under her.
Furthermore, her sister had chosen him. But she also couldn't allow Radagon to die here. Therefore...
Rennala raised her staff and unleashed Comet Azur once more—at Radagon!
The torrent of teal magic crossed a hundred meters in an instant, slamming into the shield Radagon desperately raised.
Mohg seized the opening. He dove from the sky, appearing above Radagon, and brought the Sacred Spear down with bone-crushing force.
Boom!
The ground held for a heartbeat before shattering like a spiderweb. Debris flew everywhere as Radagon was sent tumbling away, coughing up a mouthful of blood.
As Mohg prepared to press the advantage, a Comet spell, condensed with massive magical power, slammed into the ground in front of him.
"Gwyn... no, Blood Lord. To be honest, your true identity shocks me. I thought you were but a small pawn, but I never imagined..."
Rennala looked Mohg up and down. He stood half a head taller than she did.
"Queen Rennala, what is the meaning of this?" Mohg asked, his voice tinged with confusion and a hint of urgency.
If he could finish Radagon here, it might delay many future tragedies. Of course, he didn't think it would solve everything permanently. If this Radagon fell, there would simply be a "next" Radagon.
"I cannot allow you to kill him here."
Rennala drifted slowly, placing herself between Mohg and Radagon.
Radagon's feelings were a mess. Rennala was the one who had nearly broken him, yet she was also the one saving him.
"...How disappointing."
Mohg went silent for a moment before shaking his head. He beat his wings and soared away, heading straight for the battlefield where Messmer was fighting.
the power within him was draining rapidly. He needed to establish the fearsome reputation of the Mohgwyn Dynasty and eliminate the threats on the battlefield as quickly as possible.
Radagon tried to stand as he saw Mohg flying toward Messmer, but Rennala blocked his path.
"Lord Radagon, I likewise cannot allow you to participate in the rest of this battle."
"...I understand."
Radagon weighed their respective conditions and nodded helplessly. He had no choice but to focus on recovering from his injuries and replenishing his strength.
Arriving above the duel between Messmer and Rellana, Mohg waited for the moment they separated after a clash before diving in.
His heavy trident slammed into Messmer's raised spear, forcing the younger demigod's feet to sink deep into the ground.
Messmer gritted his teeth, holding the line. Seeing Rellana charging forward to help, he stomped his foot. Violent flames erupted from the cracks in the earth like a volcanic explosion.
Rellana was forced back, but Mohg pushed through the flames. He twisted his body, grabbed Messmer by the face, and slammed him into the ground.
Boom!
The moment Messmer hit the dirt, a massive fireball detonated. The explosion sent Mohg skidding back, leaving a charred patch on his chest that hissed with white smoke.
Mohg reached out and splashed a semi-transparent red liquid into the air. This was bloodflame in liquid form—the incantation known as Bloodboon!
"Stand back," Mohg said to Rellana. He took a lunging step forward and thrust his hand out.
A massive red circle instantly expanded around him.
The blood-red mist spread even further.
"Kuzun!"
Hearing the name Rellana suddenly called out, Mohg's silhouette stiffened for a brief moment. Then, without looking back, he plunged into the mist to resume his brutal struggle with Messmer, who was just clawing his way out of the crater.
