Camille's stomach dropped instantly.
The small silver remote looked harmless.
Simple.
Ordinary.
But the calm expression on Marcus's face made it terrifying.
Dante saw it too.
His entire body went rigid.
"Don't."
Marcus smiled faintly despite the blood near his mouth.
"You should know by now," he murmured softly, "I dislike losing."
Elena's voice turned sharp immediately.
"What is that?"
Marcus looked toward her briefly.
"A precaution."
Victor's horrified voice crackled through the speaker
"I deeply hate the word precaution in evil rich-people conversations."
Another explosion shook the corridor violently.
Dust rained from the ceiling again.
The mansion above them groaned loudly.
Adrian appeared farther down the tunnel looking stressed beyond belief.
"If we don't move right now, we're getting buried alive"
Dante ignored him completely.
His eyes stayed locked on the remote in Marcus's hand.
"Tell me what it does."
Marcus tilted his head slightly.
