The journey to the Darkness Ruin took several hours.
Unlike the Unaspected Ruin, which had been located on a broad plateau among several other ancient structures, the Darkness Ruin was farther from the capital.
They traveled through a narrow mountain valley before eventually reaching a massive black cliff. The entrance had been carved directly into the mountain.
Unlike the other elemental ruins, there was no obvious display of power. Instead, the area around the entrance simply seemed darker.
The sunlight reached the mountain, yet the stone surrounding the doorway remained covered in deep shadows.
Lilith stopped.
She immediately felt it even without getting too close to the entrance. It was pure darkness not shadow; there was a difference.
She could feel it almost instinctively. Her own power reacted. The shadows around her feet moved slightly.
Draco noticed.
"You feel it."
Lilith nodded.
"Yes."
"Good."
