Re-purr stares at the man who had almost strangled her to death. Now he is asking her name.
It should disturb her more than usual. But people never been any kind to her ever. Getting abused by others is quite an ordinary part of her life. So, she really doesn't find it that abused and answer him back.
"Re-purr. I am is Re-purr. Nice to meet you…"
Cody stares at her with a little surprise in her eyes. It is like he can't believe that she actually talked.
After a few second of silence, Cody comes to a conclusion and speak it out loud.
"You killed someone here and now trying to find your way out? Or what?"
Re-purr jumps up in panics for pleading not guilty.
"I did nothing like that. I promise. I literally surrendered and they asked me so many questions about this and that. I am innocent. You can even ask that human Mini about me. She knows me, I am telling the truth. Please don't hurt me. I don't like pain. Meow Meow Meoooow…."
He gets the first part but why did she started meowing for no reason? Did she just remembered that she is supposed to meow? Or is this Chosen really insane.
It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to call her a little insane. Or loose screw in the head. But at the very least, she can see what is danger around her and how to act harmless.
Cody has not felt any amount of animosity from her. But he still sure that this is just an act. Not some grand or evil kind of act. Nor does she have an ulterior motive of killing everyone here.
In simple terms, she is just a coward and she is using her pitiful appearance as a way to stay safe. He had felt her strength while trying to restraint her. If he hadn't let go then he would have broken her bones.
Also, not any Chosen can survive in hell. Those who survive are truly the most dangerous. So, she can try to be pitiful and helpless. But he can see right through her.
Cowardice is in her nature. That's how she survives.
So, Cody doesn't really have to worry about much. If she is just acting and rather just be pitiful and helpless. Then her attacking someone like him has low chances.
But now that she is here. What should he do? He can report and they will come to take her. However, that doesn't sound very appealing when there are other uses for these wild Chosen.
"… I have never ever done anything ever wrong. I am innocent and will never even harm a-"
Her pleading gets interrupted with a Cody's hand that he suddenly put it on Re-purr's shoulder. If this gesture is supposed to reassure her. Then it really isn't working for her.
"You know, you seem like good and hard-working Chosen. But wild Chosen are said to be so incompetent and just very disgusting. However, you look different. Very different. So, would you like to help your soon to be friend, Me? Or do you really want to make everyone look bad, especially yourself."
Re-purr is sure that he is threatening her and isn't even subtle about it. So, reluctantly she nods to help him out and then found herself in a very strange situation.
She is in the same cell as Skin and she is in front of her. Barking the vilest curses she has ever heard. These were ignored or tuned out by her cat mind passively. But now that she is so close. She can hear these vile curses that she isn't really sure what they even mean. Is this reddish Chosen even speaking the same language?
There can be some doubts about her language. But do not fret as she is speaking the same language. It sounds different because she has destroyed her vocal cords cause of the continuous screaming.
That's Re-purr's theory at least.
'What do I even do here?'
In here hand there is a huge rod-shaped object that seem to be made from metal. If she has to explain how it looks like then she would say that it looks like a penis. But male Chosen's penises are flaccid things. Why is this one so hard and odd?
She doesn't know much about human anatomy but this just look wrong.
'Oh wait, there are ordinary humans too. Is this made with them in mind? Is it? Ordinary humans are so weird.'
She also can't determine why it the tip of this metal penis is so point? If she didn't know any better then she would assume it to be a nail.
What does Cody even want to do with these?
He only told her to hold this and try to distract her. He didn't tell her how is she even suppose to distract her. She has no interest in getting close to her mouth. She is getting a feeling that she would lose few fingers or an entire arm if she gets close to her.
But she has to do something to keep her end of the deal. Or Cody wouldn't be happy. She really doesn't want to be strangled to death… or close to death.
So, she speak.
"Hello, Miss. Do you remember me? We met in hell? You were going to kill but then you didn't. Remember?"
Skin just shouts.
"GET ME OUT OF HERE, YOU MOTHERFUC-"
Re-purr contemplates.
'She didn't hear me.'
She is probably not loud enough. Or in front of Skin, her voice is being suppressed somehow. Or Skin just doesn't care.
But Re-purr has made a promise with Cody. So, she had to do it. Or she would be suffering from some horrible consequences. And so, she does what she always does.
Falls down on the ground.
'Wait? My bad luck streak isn't ended yet?'
She slips from cause of some blood and then lands on the ground, face first. Her facehole doesn't just taste dirt but also some dried blood. It felt like she never even left the hell at all.
Re-purr spits out the taste of dried blood. It tasted metallic and gross. Not to mention, Skin watched her fall down like an idiot.
There first met wasn't the greatest. Skin probably had a very image if her in her mind. And now, she even saw her embarrassing herself.
'This can't get any-'
She was about those cursed words. "This can't get any worse". Everyone knows that if you say those words things will get worse. Fortunately, she didn't finish that thought because of the silence.
There is no cursing.
She jumps up straight and looks at the red woman. She sees a face that is of utter confusion and astonishment. Not just that, but it seemed like she has recognized her too.
"Kitten? What are you doing here?"
Re-purr almost got emotional.
'She remembers me…'
It was a joyous occasion. She has made something of herself. Someone actually cared to remember her. It felt like a dream come true.
In reality though, Skin's memory has just sharped cause of the king's crown. She wouldn't have been able to remember her if it wasn't for that frozen blessing.
"It is me. Your sweet and cute kitten, mistress. Please love me and make me part of your happiness. Meow."
She jumps up like an actual cat, on all four, with a face that can only be described as when a pet finds their master. Such an emotional reunion.
Skin, on the other hand, didn't show much of anything. She just stared at her with astonishment and confusion. What is her confusion? Well, that is has to do with…
"Where are your ears?"
Re-purr looks up as if she can see her head and then quickly hides her human ears. It didn't make sense as she never hid them before. But she probably didn't know what else to do.
"I do have cat ears. They just fall off…"
Skin looks at her and repeats.
"Fall off?"
Re-purr answers.
"Yes. It fell off from my head. I promise I will fix it as soon as possible, Mistress."
Skin isn't sure why is she calling her mistress and what is she talking about at all. But she played along with it.
It didn't hurt to be a part of someone else's fantasy. Also, Skin already likes this Chosen who she is quite creative. Making a weapon out of sinned soul's remains, and also making toys or cats ears out of scraps. It is quite an amusing thing to see.
And so, Skin decides to play with whatever she is saying.
"Okay, Kitten? Good luck with that… But right now, I am busying cursing. So, will you excuse please?"
Re-purr blinds for five seconds. Then realized that she has to reply too. She can't hear her thoughts you know. She has to say it out loud.
"Oh. Wait a second, Mistress. I am here to do… some…. thing… Huh?"
Skin replies.
"What? Something. See I am busy right now. I have to make noise so my love can hear me. Cursing is just part of the process. Curses just reach the ears faster…"
Re-purr things of Skin's words and for some reason remembers a man that had almost get her killed. But she isn't sure why is that man is coming in her mind when her mistress is talking about her lover.
It is quite odd. But there is some other greater oddness here.
'Help…'
Cody had said help. But he wouldn't expect a wild chosen to do his job for them, right? Even if he did. There is no why that he had expect a Chosen like…Re-purr… to complete his job. He probably had figured enough about her that she is quite incompetent in more than one way.
So, what is the use of her in here? Does he expect her to put this metal dick like thing into her mouth to shut her off? Like a gag? Re-purr is too cowardly to do that.
Skin herself is pretty strong too. She would probably, bite the metal dick in half and chew off her fingers too. Re-purr's fear is valid.
And so, the question is what is her use? But isn't it just too simple? Her task in his job is very simple.
'I am a bait.'
As that thought comes into her mind. She jumps at the side as she is fearing that something is behind her. Call it the sixth sense or just her ability to know her own bad luck.
She has suffered through many near-death incidents. Not every incident was escaped with chance. She has adapted to her own bad luck and seem to understand how it works… to some degree.
And right now. She is so close to dying.
As Re-purr jumps away, a cannon like sound is heard behind her. It shoots passed Re-purr. Barely missing her head. The projectile in question vaguely looked exactly like the metal dick that is in her hands.
The projectile continues moving forwards and cracks into Skin's mouth. it destroys her teeth and her lower jaw completely. Then it comes out her back head. Making it hard to get it out of her mouth.
End result, she is unable to speak anything now.
Bright red eyes straights at looks at Re-purr who survived the attack. But now it feels like she has become an accomplice of this.
