"Mom," Leah said as she walked into the sunlit penthouse and immediately raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow. "Why're you sweaty like that?"
Leah pushed the heavy mahogany door fully open, her designer sneakers stepping onto the plush, expensive rug.
She stopped near the entrance with her arms crossing over her chest as her eyes scanned the room.
Isabel sat perched on the very edge of the squeaking leather massage table.
Her chest was heaving, her flawless pale skin flushed a deep violent pink.
She scrambled to pull the edges of a thin white spa towel tightly around her bare torso with her knuckles turning stark white from the death grip she had on the cotton fabric.
Isabel actively avoided making eye contact.
She looked directly down to the polished ground as she used her free hand to frantically rub the back of her damp neck.
"I was doing some exercises," Isabel lied, her voice slightly breathless as she forced her corporate composure back into place.
