The moment the light flashed and we appeared back at the gathering area, the first thing I noticed was the significant drop in our numbers.
A day ago, we'd already lost more than 3 students before even entering the place.
Now, looking around, I could count less than sixty students remaining..
"Damn… the old man wasn't kidding, our numbers got shaved.." Malachi whistled as he too was currently taking in the drastic drop in numbers around us.
"Yea, but, were those things really that bad? I mean we could easily take them out, so why not the others?" I was actually stumped.
Sure, the abominations were big and strong and diverse in their looks, but aside the few with rare abilities, the others were just regular creatures that shouldn't have been much trouble.
"Heh.. that may be true, but you yourself had done your part in reducing our numbers so why not others." Malachi laughed, and that's when it clicked..
