— New School Year, General POV —
Marie Monroe did not have an easy life. Far from it.
When Marie was born, Vought- with the permission of her parents- injected her with Compound V, granting her superhuman powers that were meant to awaken once she got older.
Normally children awaken powers at a young age, but some can develop them as late as 18. Marie was closer to the latter than the former. Awakening her powers at the same day she got her first Period.
And as one might expect, when she awakened her powers she lost control of them. Not only that, she accidentally killed both of her parents.
She was then sent to a Supe Facility, a place most did not come out as well functioning members of society and to beat the statistics, she applied for the Godolkin University, and as 'luck' would have it, she was accepted.
She just entered the God U dormitories and met her roommate. It was an energetic blonde girl with power to shrink herself. And now, she followed her to what looked like a football stadium.
"So what are we doing here exactly?" Marie asked
"Dude, his workouts are practically the social event of the season." Emma said without taking her eyes from the field
"Whose?" Marie asked
"His." Emma said as someone flew into the stand
"What up Khan!" Maverick said, Adem gave him a fist bump as he walked away. Not caring about everyone watching him.
"Holy fucking shit…" Marie mumbled as she stared at the Number 1 ranked God U. student.This was a Supe with powers on par with Homelander, any Supe their age had heard about him."You know I saw a video of Khan flying too fast, he had lost his clothes, surprisingly he was cut, don't know how they cut that thing off." Emma said as her eyes wandered towards Adem's lower half. "I'd love to suck that dry,"
Adem could hear everyone in the stadium if he wanted but he purposefully blocked all ambient sound and focused on the blue eyed telepath in front of him.
"Are you okay?" She asked
"Yeah, I'm fine. There is just too much noise." He said with a shrug. "It takes me a minute to adjust. The super senses start to become a headache sometimes."
"How about we see if I can fuck the headache out your system?"
"I'd like to see you try." He said before they kissed"
*blergh* Monogamy is so last century." They both turned around to see Tyler walking towards them.
"So, who is the victim today?" Adem asked
"You didn't even check?" Tyler asked with wide eyes
"I mean, should I have?" Adem said with a cocky grin.
*sigh* "I suppose not. You are fighting the Incredible Steve."
"He is still going with that name? I mean the Incredible part I get, but Steve? Change it to something like Hulk."
"I think there is a trade mark on that." He said with a shrug getting Adem to nod in response. "Alright now, game face on, I bet 10k on you winning under a minute.
"Adem raised an eyebrow, "Really?"
"Easiest money I made," he said with a shrug."Not unless I play around."
"Oh fuck you."
*chuckles*Adem slowly walked towards Steve they bumped fists and took 5 paces back.
Adem then gestured him to come, Steve, who was noticeably larger, tried to rush him, but it was for naught Adem grabbed his arm and slammed him into the ground.The crowd cheered, getting a small smile from Adem as he hovered towards Steve.In the stands Marie pointed towards the fight and said "I'm gonna be there someday."
"On your knees, taking his coc-"
"Ranked in the top 10." Marie said, cutting her off.
Steve began to scream as Adem applied pressure on his arms.
"Number 1 in the Top 10." Marie said
"Jesus Christ, who wants that kind of pressure?" Emma said with a shake of her head.
"I do." Marie said just as Adem ripped off Steve's arms
"Or you can be like that guy," Emma said with a small smirk.
"Hey. Look at me." Adem said to Steve "You did good, all right? I actually hit you, and you didn't get knocked out. Next time don't rush in and keep your distance, and try to blind me with bright projectiles. Maybe bring something to take out my hearing too." He said as he put Steve's arms back in place and they quickly healed themselves.
"Thanks, man." Steve said getting a nod from AdemIn the stands, first year students phones chimed "Wait, fuck me. Class schedules are out." Emma said"They are?" Marie asked
"Mm-hmm."
"Can I borrow your phone? I don't have one yet.
"A phone?" After seeing her nod Emma asks
"Wait, are you Amish? Is Black Amish a thing?" She passed the phone regardless.
Marie quickly checked.
She had gotten into Professor Brink's Intro to Crime Fighting Class!
She couldn't help but smile a little as she was now one step closer to her goal.
To become a hero and more importantly prove to herself and her estranged sister that she is NOT a monster.
— An Hour Later, Brink's Office, Adem's POV —
"Do you remember what I told you? When you first came to my office?" Brink asked as he pulled out a folder inside his desk drawer.
"Said I'd be bigger than the Homelander." I told him,
"Did I? Heh Heh Heh Heh Heh… Your time has come, son." He said as he gave me the folder.
I raised an eyebrow as I opened the folder.
There was an image of myself, standing shoulder to shoulder with Homelander, Black Noir, Deep, and A-Train.
"What's this?"
"You made it."
"I made it… to- to the Seven?"
"Now, it's gonna take the lawyers a… couple months to paper the deal, but you, my boy, are going to The Seven. No draft, no nothin'. It's done. We did it."
I couldn't help but smile.
Homelander was not planning to have me killed, he wanted to recruit me.This… This changes everything.
— That Night, God U., General POV —
"Hey guys, can we wait a bit more, I invited this girl," Andre said, getting everyone to raise an eyebrow at that.
"Wait a minute, a girl? Aren't you dating Steve? Dude, you shouldn't cheat on your boyfriend, that's not cool." Adem said with a disappointed look on his face.
"Fuck off," Andre said as he flipped him the bird."
So, who is she?" Jenna- Luke's on again off again girlfriend asked.
"Her name's Marie. She is a freshman. And here she is." They all have a small nod as a black girl with ponytails walks in.Adem's first impression of her was that she seemed too uptight. Seeing no one was talking he spoke up.
"Hey, I'm Adem, this is Cate." He said as he pointed towards his girlfriend who gave a small wave.
"I know who you are. I know everyone…" Marie said as she laughed nervously "Nice to meet you."
"That's Luke and Jenna" he said as he pointed towards the duo who gave a wave,
"And finally Jordan." Jordan gave a nod.
"Nice to meet you all," Marie said with a small smile on her face."Jordan can ride with us, Marie and Andre with Luke and Jenna?" Adem suggested and seeing no one was arguing they all got into their respective cars and drove off.
— Seven Tower —
Jordan, Andre, Jenna were snorting some coke while Luke, Adem and Cate were having a drink.
Seeing that Marie was watching the view by herself Luke was about to approach her until he was stopped by Adem, who then gave a nudge to Andre.
The fifth ranked Supe slowly makes his way to Marie and the two of them get to talking.
Beyond that, however, Adem didn't really care much about them and instead focused on Homelander, who was having a milkshake with his son at the moment.
From what he could see, the two were getting along just fine, and if Adem didn't know better he could think Homelander was being a good influence on Ryan.
'So this is the first natural Supe in the world, huh? The supposed Chosen One?' He thought as he continued watching the duo,
'He seems so ordinary. His life seems too nice to be a protag, wonder if he has some hidden trauma besides a dad that's secretly a psycho murderer?' He was lost in thought when he noticed Homelander looking up, their eyes met for a brief second before both turned away from each other.'It's going to be interesting,'
