Draven has been the sweetest man the past few days. It's almost unbelievable he was the same Demon everyone spoke about. It has been bliss with him, which was why I decided I was going to do something really special for him today.
At the very least to thank him for allowing me to have a beautiful feast with the children. A smile graced my lips as I recalled hunting with him.
The glow from the hearth was faint when I quietly opened the door to Draven's chambers. He sat at the heavy wooden desk, papers and maps sprawled in front of him, his brow furrowed as he traced routes with a calloused finger. The weight of leadership never seemed to leave him, even in the small hours.
I hesitated a moment in the doorway, clutching the tray of food I had prepared. The smell of roasted venison and fresh bread mingled with herbs from the garden I'd gathered earlier. I wasn't sure if he'd want to be disturbed, but something inside me whispered this was necessary.
