Chapter 48 - chapter 48

Screen 1

Inside the palace of Amazon Lily, Boa Hancock finally spoke openly to Monkey D. Luffy and Sonic.

For the first time, her tone changed.

She revealed the truth about her past—

that she and her sisters had once been slaves to the Celestial Dragons.

The room fell silent.

Sonic didn't interrupt.

His expression slowly hardened as he listened.

The mark on her back…

the anger…

the secrecy…

It all made sense now.

"…So that's what it was," he said quietly.

He looked down for a moment, then back at Hancock.

"That wasn't weakness."

There was no pity in his voice—only understanding.

"…That was survival."

For Sonic, this changed everything.

What he saw earlier on Sabaody now connected directly to Hancock's past.

And his view of the Celestial Dragons dropped even lower.

Screen 2

Inside Boa Hancock's palace on Amazon Lily, the tension had eased after her story.

Sonic shifted slightly, his injured leg still bothering him.

He looked toward Hancock and said calmly,

"…Do you have any medicine?"

He added,

"I need to take care of this before I fight again."

Hancock glanced at him for a moment, her expression no longer hostile.

Given everything that had just happened—Luffy protecting her secret and Sonic doing the same—she no longer saw them as enemies.

She turned slightly and called for assistance.

"Bring medicine."

Sonic nodded once.

"…Thanks."

Even while asking, his focus was clear—

he wasn't just healing.

He was preparing for what comes next.

Screen 3

Inside the palace on Amazon Lily, Monkey D. Luffy made his request to Boa Hancock.

He asked for her help to reach Marineford and save his brother, Portgas D. Ace.

The urgency in his voice made it clear—this wasn't just another fight.

After that, Luffy rushed to find Sonic.

Inside a quiet room, Sonic was resting, his injuries being treated.

Luffy burst in.

"Sonic!"

Sonic opened his eyes slightly.

"…You're loud."

Luffy didn't slow down.

"Ace is in danger. I'm going to Marineford."

Sonic sat up a little, ignoring the pain.

"…So it's finally happening."

There was no hesitation in his voice.

Even injured, he understood the situation immediately.

Luffy looked at him seriously.

"I'm going to save him."

Sonic nodded once.

"…Then we move."

Even while resting, his mindset didn't change.

This wasn't something he was going to sit out.

Screen 4

With the plan set, Monkey D. Luffy prepared to leave Amazon Lily with the help of Boa Hancock to reach Marineford and save Portgas D. Ace.

As Hancock boarded the Navy ship, all attention was on her.

Sonic moved differently.

He didn't walk in.

He waited.

The moment guards turned and movement shifted, Sonic slipped onto the ship in a split-second burst of speed, disappearing into a blind spot before anyone could notice.

From there, he stayed hidden using speed and positioning.

moving only when needed

staying above or behind structures

tracking patrol patterns

avoiding direct lines of sight

To everyone on board, he was never clearly seen.

Only a blur… or nothing at all.

Sonic remained completely aware of his surroundings, silently following the movement of guards and adjusting constantly.

He didn't rely on luck.

He relied on timing.

At one point, he paused in the shadows, watching Marines pass by.

"…Too many eyes," he thought.

Then he shifted again—gone before anyone looked back.

He only appeared when necessary… and vanished just as quickly.

For the first time, Sonic wasn't just fast.

He was invisible through precision.
