Hide pulled out his fingers with the eye, then placing it in his hand he squashed it.
Hot, dark red blood erupted instantly, spraying across Hide's scaled forearm as the branch Commander let out an ear-piercing, blood-curdling shriek.
Bypassing the frantic flailing, Hide grabbed the screaming man firmly by his damp hair, violently pulling his face up until they were inches apart.
