(BLUE'S POV)
The clock struck three in the morning by the time everyone had finally settled in.
My house—my quiet, peaceful sanctuary—had been transformed into a bustling hive of activity. Lights flicked on in rooms that had been dark for years. Footsteps echoed through hallways that had known only silence. Voices, laughter, and the occasional argument drifted through the walls like music I hadn't realized I'd been missing.
Mason, the sweetest and most gracious host, went from room to room, making sure everyone was comfortable. I watched him from the hallway as he knocked on doors, poked his head into rooms, and offered extra blankets and pillows with that warm, genuine smile that had captured my heart.
He was exhausted. I could see it in the slight droop of his shoulders, the way his eyes struggled to stay fully open. But he refused to rest until everyone else was taken care of.
That was my mate.
Selfless to a fault.
Kind beyond reason.
