Chapter 86 - Dropping the Act Now, Are We!

The Suzuki family was originally a very ordinary family of four.

It was a family consisting of parents and two children.

The two children were a sister and a brother, with the sister being ten years older than her younger brother.

This should have been a happy family, but misfortune still found its way to the Suzuki family.

Their youngest son behaved differently from other children right from birth.

He would often wave his arms at the empty air and cry inexplicably, as if someone there was frightening him.

After hospital checkups confirmed the child was physically healthy, Mr. and Mrs. Suzuki gradually felt relieved, thinking the child was just too young and ignorant.

However, as their son grew older, these symptoms did not disappear; instead, they became increasingly severe.

Not only did he become taciturn, but sometimes he would also draw terrifying scribbles, suddenly turn his head to look out the window while eating, hide in the closet in the dead of night instead of sleeping...

This series of bizarre behaviors frightened quite a few people.

Especially his parents and his sister.

Even so, his parents did not give up on raising him, nor did his sister resent him for it.

But just because the three of them could endure their son and brother's bizarre actions didn't mean others could accept them.

People nowadays have basically all watched horror movies or horror programs, and even if they haven't, they have heard the ghost stories passed down from older generations.

Therefore, rumors that the Suzuki family's son was possessed by filthy things slowly spread from the mouths of their neighbors.

The final outcome was as expected; the Suzuki family was isolated and targeted by their neighbors, and in severe cases, even subjected to verbal abuse.

Now, even their son, who was already in elementary school, was treated as a freak and ostracized by the students in his class. Even the teachers, following the principle that less trouble is better than more, didn't want to get too close.

In order for their son to return to normal, the Suzuki couple tried all sorts of methods. Even though their family savings were almost depleted, the results were still minimal.

That was until Mrs. Suzuki met Shindou Rom on the internet.

After she bought some energy stones and even had the good fortune to invite Rom to set up a formation in their home, her son's condition finally began to slowly improve.

This made her overjoyed.

Following this, Mrs. Suzuki and her husband, as if clutching at the last straw, maintained close contact with Rom, hoping to completely cure their son's illness.

Their son, Suzuki Shota, also really liked this older brother who seemed to know a little bit about everything and had a humorous personality.

However, there was one person who deeply disliked Rom, and that was Shota's sister, Suzuki Kotone.

After being deceived by all sorts of scammers so many times, and even experiencing a few incidents that nearly ruined their family.

It led Kotone to harbor no favorable impressions of charlatans like Rom.

If it hadn't actually worked, and if he hadn't slowly leeched their family's blood like boiling a frog in warm water as other scammers did, she would have called the police to arrest Rom long ago.

"This is their family's current situation..."

Rom was driving, patiently explaining the Suzuki family's situation to Mitsue Takeda in the passenger seat.

After hearing this, Mitsue Takeda sighed melancholically. She looked down at the Eye of Truth on her wrist and lamented:

"What responsible parents and a strong sister. It's fortunate that doom hasn't completely descended upon this family, and they only encountered some unpresentable scammers. If they had joined some evil cults, the consequences would be unimaginable..."

Recalling the tragedies she had witnessed firsthand when traveling with her master, Towako Oka, in her youth, Mitsue Takeda couldn't help but break a sweat for the Suzuki family.

If they had fallen into that trap, they wouldn't have just lost money; even the people would...

Thinking of those victims tortured beyond human recognition, Mitsue Takeda was momentarily filled with fury and tightly clenched her fists.

"To avoid the worst-case scenario, the best method is to solve the problem at its root. Only by sealing Shota's Yin-Yang Eyes can the Suzuki family return to a normal life, right?"

Rom said with a smile and a relaxed expression.

Yin-Yang Eyes were a curse. While bringing danger to oneself, they would also bring trouble to those around them.

Because of the Yin-Yang Eyes, he was heartlessly abandoned by his biological parents when he was very young.

He had even forgotten what his original name was. The name Shindou Rom was given to him by Mitsue Takeda.

Whether out of sympathy or other reasons, Rom genuinely wanted to help the Suzuki family overcome this difficulty.

Fortunately, the level of Shota's Yin-Yang Eyes was very low; he could only see some harmless evil spirits.

Even so, without Gabriel's Cognitive Filter, all he could do was borrow stones with special energy to help Shota drive away some weak evil spirits.

Then, he acted as Shota's psychologist, letting him quickly get used to the world he saw through his eyes.

"We're here."

Upon arriving at their destination, Rom found a spot and parked the car.

Immediately after, he brought Mitsue Takeda and walked toward a two-story residential house not far away.

Outside the door, Mrs. Suzuki, who had been waiting for a long time, immediately showed a warm smile and took the initiative to greet them upon seeing Rom.

"Mr. Rom, you're finally here. Please come in. Once he heard you were coming, Shota was so happy that he has been waiting in the living room for you."

After her polite words, Mrs. Suzuki glanced at Mitsue Takeda beside Rom and asked courteously, "And who might this be?"

"This is The Godmother of Shitamachi, one of my guides," Rom introduced.

"My name is Mitsue Takeda. Please forgive my uninvited arrival."

"You're being too polite, please come in!"

Mrs. Suzuki hurriedly invited Mitsue Takeda and Rom into the house.

As soon as they reached the living room, they saw a very young teenage girl playing Chinese checkers with a boy.

Hearing someone arrive, the two raised their heads at the same time.

Upon seeing Rom and an unfamiliar old woman, they each revealed different expressions.

Shota appeared very happy, while his sister Kotone wasn't very welcoming of Rom's arrival.

However, upon seeing her younger brother so happy, Kotone slowly tucked away her prejudice against Rom.

"Mr. Rom, Shota just told me that since yesterday afternoon up until now, he hasn't seen those things. Was this the work of you and the Godmother?"

Mrs. Suzuki acted very excitedly.

She believed it was Rom and the Godmother casting spells together that dispelled those filthy things.

Hearing this, Mitsue Takeda and Rom immediately thought of Gabriel.

As well as the feathers falling from the sky and that golden pillar of light that had appeared for a fleeting moment.

In the city they were currently in, the figures of evil spirits could no longer be seen wandering the streets. They guessed that Gabriel had probably eliminated them in passing.

"Unfortunately, what you mentioned has nothing to do with us."

Rom shook his head and then said in a joking tone, "Perhaps, it was a legendary angel stepping in to help us clean out the filthy things in this city."

Suzuki Kotone: "!"

Good, good, good. He finally showed his true colors!

Seeing the time is ripe, he is dropping the act and preparing to proselytize now, huh!
