Chapter 63 - Hookie

"What is all this about?" Nathan asked.

"You are not being truthful with me," Mason explained.

"I am not being truthful with you?" Nathan asked.

"Get out," he said pointing at the door. Mason chuckled and slowly walked out.

"What was all that about?" Jenny asked and Nathan shook his head.

'Where is Mark? If he tries anything I might need back up,' Nathan thought.

Nathan looked at Jenny and saw her turn pale.

"What?" he asked and turned around but there was nothing there.

"Nothing, I thought I saw something," Jenny explained.

"Okay, do you know who else spent the night?" Nathan asked.

"Don't know maybe Mrs Jane," Jenny said.

"I didn't see her after she expressed her deepest condolences," Nathan mentioned.

"I think I should go home, it has been months," Jenny said.

"Sure, can I come?" Nathan asked.

"How about after breakfast we get back into bed?" Jenny suggested.

"I will love that," Nathan replied and started to devour his food.

'She changed the topic so fast. Doesn't she want me to meet her family?' Nathan thought as he ate.

After breakfast, they went back to Nathan's room and had sex.

"Have you seen anything strange happening lately?" Jenny asked as she placed her head on Nathan's chest.

"Strange like servants sneaking food?" he asked.

"No, like howls at night, creaking doors and floorboards. Cold spots?" Jenny clarified.

"Wait, does my girlfriend believe in ghosts," Nathan asked and looked down at her.

She shrugged and hugged him tight.

"Don't worry I'll save you," Nathan said mockingly.

"I am serious," Jenny assured him.

"I have not seen anything strange. Maybe it's all the videos you watch at night. What do they call themselves?" Nathan said.

"Phantom Busters? No those videos are more funny than scary," Jenny said.

"Phantom Busters," Nathan said, and struck a pose. Jenny stared at him as she tried not to laugh. Nathan on the other hand held his pose long enough for her to lose composure.

She laughed and Nathan joined her.

Nathan's phone rang and he answered it.

"Hello, Jane," Nathan said.

"I know you are an adult but since you have lost your parents and any parental figure. I was thinking of tossing my hat in the ring. Anything you need at all just ask," Jane said on the other side of the phone.

"Okay, I appreciate that. I didn't see you at the reception," Nathan said.

"Yeah, had some urgent business to take care of," she explained.

"Thanks for coming, it was nice to see some familiar faces," Nathan mentioned.

"Uurm, did you know Clayton was a twin?" he added.

"Yes,"

"Of course, you knew and decided not to tell me," Nathan complained.

"Mason is dangerous, stay as far away from him as possible," Jane warned.

"I sensed he was, I threw him out of the house," Nathan explained.

"That was a bad idea, you don't want to make an enemy out of him," Jane said.

"I can handle myself," Nathan said. They said their goodbyes and hung up.
