Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Diversity

Alech hesitated for a moment, not expecting the sudden confession of Aki. "Aki i… Like you too…." She said loud enough for Leo to hear. Leo's heart broke. "I guess my feelings were really invalid." He thought to himself as he accepted the fact that Alech had Aki, "She's fine with him… I don't have to worry. She deserves someone in her league." He thought with a sad smile as she continued walking with Luna. In the distance, Luna and Akito were hugging each other. "I love you so much, Alech.." he muttered. "I love you too!" Alech said with a faint smile on her face. Leo looked back, glancing at her happy face for the last time, when Luna forcefully forced him to face her. "Look back again, and she loses all hope of getting a job here." Leo agreed reluctantly, knowing every other city from them that has good jobs is too far for comfort. "Fine… but I'm only doing this for her, for the record, I don't like you." He said, shooting a disgusted warning glance at Luna. Luna chuckled mockingly as her lips grew into a smug smirk. "Fine by me. I just wanna see her cry." Luna said coldly before continuing to act like a lovely girlfriend. Leo was confused; he hadn't recalled any fights between Luna and Alech. "What do you mean..?" He asked. "It was the first day of school. And we were in the same class, that's how I first met you. We were talking when suddenly Alech interrupted me. I liked you back then, so seeing the two of you close was a sight I couldn't bear. Since then, it's been my goal to make her pay." Luna said as the shadows covered most of her face, "Really? All of this just for that? God, you're pathetic," He muttered annoyingly. "Don't test me. All it takes is one phone call," She said in a menacing tone. "Jeez, fine… don't be that serious." He said defensively. The day was ending as Leo went back to the shared space of their dorm. Coincidentally, he and Alech had entered at the same time. The tension was awkward, and not a single one of them could talk. The room was silent to the point that even the distinct chatter outside could be heard. "Hey," Leo said awkwardly. "Yeah…" Alech muttered. The silence only grew. It wasn't obvious, but they both knew they loved each other, yet it looked like fate had other plans. "Kind of an awkward situation." Leo said, trying to keep things composed. "You like Akito, don't you…" He said with a fake smile. Alech couldn't speak, not knowing if she liked Akito or Leo. "Y-yeah.." She said out of fear of getting rejected. "Oh…" Leo said, disappointingly. "Well, goodnight…" he said, looking sad before entering his room. "Why did he look so sad!? And why is my stomach fluttering again? God, I can't even think straight anymore… do I love him or Aki?" she thought. "I'll figure this out in the morning…"
