Chapter 180 - Chapter 180 : Modern Weapon

After Miku left, Yuto could clearly feel Ainz relax; while she had been there, he had been acting the whole time to leave a good impression.

Looking at the two of them, Yuto could only keep sighing.

'So this is what a male idol fan looks like?'

That's... actually pretty deep.

"Boss, when the time comes, can I bring Kanna and the others too?" Tohru asked excitedly from the table.

She had heard Miku sing before, so she knew how amazing her songs were.

Now that Miku had invited her to the concert, she was thrilled—but she also thought of her friends.

After all, Lucoa and the others also thought very highly of Miku.

If they found out Tohru had gone without them, they would definitely get mad.

Yuto thought about it. "I don't think Miku would mind."

When he thought of the concerts he knew about, they were usually held in huge places with tens of thousands of people.

Miku's charity concert was probably going to be pretty big too, so a few extra people shouldn't matter.

"Okay!" The dragon girl's tail wagged back and forth like a puppy's, which made her look a little funny.

As time passed, Iskandar and El-Melloi II got ready to leave.

It was past midnight, and even a mage needed sleep, besides, El-Melloi II had classes to teach the next day, and as a good teacher, showing up late was not a habit he wanted.

Having been trained many times by the Conqueror King's drinking habits, El-Melloi II could now at least stay conscious.

His steps were unsteady, but compared to before, he was much better.

"Hahaha, Waver, you still have a long way to go!" Iskandar slapped El-Melloi II on the back a few times, making the mage's stomach twist so badly he almost threw up.

Waver yelled at the Conqueror King, but the king didn't care at all.

Even though the two of them were technically king and retainer, to Yuto and the others, they felt more like friends, or sometimes an older man and a younger brother.

The way they got along was easy and natural.

After the two left, Yuto looked at Saitama.

"So you've stopped caring about staying up late now?" he joked.

It was already around three in the morning.

Normally, Saitama would have gone home long ago.

"Yeah, I don't really care anymore," Saitama said with a blank smile, scratching his head.

The night before, after Ainz and Rimuru talked to him, he had already started thinking about pulling an all-nighter.

But back then, both of them happened to have things to do, so Saitama had left too.

Tonight, though, he had decided to not give a damn about sleeping habits.

Usually, sleeping and waking early was part of Saitama's training.

Lately, however, as that strange emptiness in his heart kept growing, he had slowly lost his passion for training; otherwise, he definitely would have kept following a strict schedule.

Maybe once he found whatever it was he had lost inside himself, he would go back to being the old Saitama.

And there was another reason, too: back then, he had gone to bed early to protect his hair.

Now all his hair was gone, so what was there left to protect?

All that stuff about "as long as you don't stay up late, you won't lose your hair" was a lie!

Yuto's eyebrows moved slightly as he glanced at Ainz and Rimuru.

He suddenly felt like these three might become the restaurant's regular all-night group.

He didn't mind at all, plenty of late-night diners had customers who stayed until morning.

For a restaurant like his, that kind of customer was actually pretty nice.

Usually, once the first half of the night passed, the second half belonged to the owner alone.

Having a few customers sitting there—even if they weren't chatting much—brought a human feeling to the place.

A restaurant like this lost a lot of its charm if it didn't have that ordinary warmth of daily life.

Yes, opening a business was for money, but there were other things that were hard to let go of—things that were hard to explain clearly and could only be felt.

"Oh right, Ainz, Rimuru—how have things been going in your worlds these past few days?" Yuto asked.

He suddenly remembered what had happened when he visited Ainz's world.

Back then, Ainz had been very cautious toward that unfamiliar world, and Yuto was curious how things were going now that a few days had passed.

The same went for Rimuru, who was building up his village.

The fact that those two had become friends was maybe not an accident; in some ways, their situations were pretty similar.

Hearing the question, Ainz and Rimuru put down their game consoles.

Ainz raised one hand to his chin.

Since he was a skeleton, there was nothing to read on his face, but based on experience, Yuto could tell he was trying to look cool and thoughtful again.

The scary part was that it really looked natural, and Yuto couldn't help being impressed by how smooth Ainz's acting was getting!

"Come to think of it, today I dealt with a group calling themselves the Slane Theocracy," Ainz said calmly, devoid of emotion.

The way he said "dealt with" basically meant he had killed them.

"Did they do something?" Yuto asked.

"They tried to kill the villagers I was protecting, so I stepped in. Honestly, they were so weak that today I started wondering if I was being way too careful before," Ainz sounded annoyed and a little helpless.

"It's never a bad thing to be careful. I just got back from the dwarf kingdom myself, and I even brought a few blacksmiths back. The goblins are still too weak. Without weapons, they really have no fighting power at all," Rimuru chimed in excitedly.

"Also, I should thank you again for the seeds you bought before, Boss. The village has already started planting them, and with magic helping them grow, they're doing really well."

While listening to them, Yuto nodded.

He had been worried before, but now it seemed there wasn't much reason to be.

"There's still a problem, though. The goblins are still too weak, I want to make them stronger, but just holding swords and actually knowing how to use them are two completely different things," Rimuru sounded troubled.

Ainz rubbed his chin. "That's true. I've already claimed Carne Village as part of my territory, but the villagers are too easy to attack. It would be nice if there were something we could use to arm them."

By the time Ainz finished, Yuto already understood what he meant.

"Kamisaka, since we're going to the convention together tomorrow, could you let me stop by a military base and pick up a few things? I think it would be a very solid plan."

Sure enough, Ainz still hadn't given up on modern weapons.

Maybe under that calm outside, he was secretly a weapons maniac at heart!

"That sounds great, actually!" Rimuru jumped in right away, getting the hint immediately.

Yuto couldn't help but laugh at the two of them, but after thinking for a moment, he refused.

If he let those two mess around in some military base, who knew what kind of trouble they would cause? If it stayed small, fine.

But if what they did ended up starting a war, that would be a huge problem.

His world had finally become peaceful again, and Yuto didn't want to see it thrown into chaos!

Still, as for modern weapons... he did have another idea.

Maybe Kaguya could help? After all, behind her was the Shinomiya family, a giant power that secretly controlled much of the country.

Getting some guns and ammo might be possible.

When Yuto told Ainz and Rimuru his idea, the two fell into thought.

"Hm—Ainz, you cursed her brother yesterday. Isn't this going to be awkward?" Rimuru sounded helpless.

"She already said she didn't mind, so you don't need to mind either. You can ask first. You could buy them from her or make some kind of deal," Yuto's words made Ainz nod thoughtfully.

"Got it. Then I'll have to ask you to help contact her tomorrow," Ainz decided right away.

"And me too! Me too!" Rimuru jumped up.

Yuto nodded and agreed to help both of them.

Actually, he had another possible way to help them get modern weapons too.

After all, quite a few of his customers came from modern worlds.
