Claire's POV
This was why men were made to go to war. They could be a nuisance if they wanted to. Actually, they were always a nuisance. Louis had made me totally pissed. I couldn't even see clearly.

I got back home still in a permanent state of irritation and anger. But I knew what I had to do.
I quivers went to my room, making sure Benedict and Betty were not around or close by to notice anything.
I packed my small box with a few clothes and some essentials that I would be needing. I was going home.
Thankfully, we weren't really married so I could do whatever I wanted.
Zipping up the box, I decided to call my mum, to let her know I'd be coming. She still thought I was on a business trip abroad, the thought of my deception pressing harder into my chest.
I zip up the last box and sit back on my heels for a moment, staring at it like it holds more than my clothes.
