Synopsis
On the surface, Adrian is just another teenager struggling to make ends meet. Between juggling part-time jobs, racing across the city to make deliveries, and saving up money to go to college, he dreams of nothing more than leaving his painful past behind. But the world hides a truth few are cursed to see. Beneath modern society exists a world twisted by magic, where monsters feed on the corpses of heroes and those gifted with supernatural power walk unseen among ordinary people, secretly protecting the world from its inevitable end. When Adrian is thrust into this hidden world, he finds himself caught in a conflict far older than civilization itself. As ancient horrors awaken and powerful factions crumble the world thrashing in the wake of it's destruction. Along the way, he forms unlikely bonds, faces ruthless enemies, and walks a path where every battle demands more than strength. It demands sacrifice. In a world where agony is a constant and madness is the price for power, Adrian must decide how much of himself he is willing to lose in order to protect the people he cares about. Because some paths lead to glory. His leads to madness.

Chapter 1 - Author's note

Heya guys, I'm Crimson and this will be the first novel that I write and i'd like to set a few things straight.

First of all, this is going to be a rework of my other novel 'The demon of madness' I wanted to make a few changes in my writing style, the characters and the progression. Though everything will still be mainly the same though.

Secondly, I probably won't be able to write more than three chapters a week. I've got a lot going on right now as well as the fact that time has a tendency to chug down a redbull when I start watching shorts.

Third, if you read this then please consider dropping a comment I want to know that people actually read this and I'm not just writing for nothing.

Fourth, there is going to be some mature themes in this novel not suited for younger readers, so you could need this warning or be like me and completely ignore it.

And so without further ado you are welcomed to 'Ascending the path of Madness' I hope to see you all 50, 100 or even 1000 chapters from now. Thank you.
