Hey guys here's the extra chapter I promised hope you enjoy.

Chapter 70: Hero License

Cid stood near the front of the bus with his hand in his pocket, watching the now much emptier parking lot while Aizawa waited beside him with his arms crossed. The exam had wrapped a while ago. Most of the other classes had already cleared out, and the only noises left were those of the engine and the occasional distant voice from staff packing up equipment.

He spotted Class 1-A as they came around the corner of the building. They were being loud and excited about their overall success in the exam. Mina was laughing at something Kaminari said, while Kirishima was grinning with both arms slung over them on either side of him, and Iida was already trying to organize them into a proper line even though no one was listening.

Bakugo and Todoroki were the exceptions. Todoroki walked a few steps behind the main group, with his eyes on the ground and his expression one of deep thought and reflection. Bakugo was walking off to the side of the group entirely with his hands jammed in his pockets and his jaw set in a tight scowl not looking at anyone.

When they got close enough Cid lifted a hand and greeted them. "Yo. Good job on the exam you guys."

A few excitedly thanked him as they approached. Mina gave him a bright wave. Kirishima flashed a grin and a thumbs-up. Even Iida managed a short, proper nod between attempts to corral the others. Bakugo did not respond. Todoroki glanced up once, acknowledged him with the smallest tilt of his head, then looked down again.

Aizawa didn't let the moment last. "Get on the bus, you can talk on the way back. We're not standing around here all day, I want to be back soon."

The class quickly hurried on to the bus as the chatter picked right back up as they filed past Cid and climbed the steps, someone already arguing about who got the window. Cid followed them on and dropped into an empty seat near the middle. While Aizawa stayed up front, one hand on the rail, watching until the last person was seated before he told the driver to go.

The bus pulled out of the lot. For a minute or two Cid sat in silence just relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere. Before Tsuyu turned around in her seat and looked directly at Cid.

"Hey Cid, I have a question." she said. The rest of the bus did not go completely quiet, but enough of them noticed the shift that the volume dropped. "Since you didn't take the exam, is that going to cause issues for you legally? Ribbit."

Several heads turned. Mina's smile faded a little, Kirishima leaned forward worried about him. Even Iida paused mid-sentence. They weren't over the top or dramatic about it but they were genuinely worried for him. They had all just finished something that decided whether they could keep moving forward as heroes, and Cid had been sitting on the sidelines the whole time.

Cid met Tsuyu's eyes for a second, then shrugged. "I'll be fine." He reached into his coat, pulled out his hero license, and held it out to her between two fingers. "I already have this."

Tsuyu took it and read it then blinked once, then twice, eyes moving over the card again to make sure she read it correctly.

Tsuyu held the card in both hands and read it out loud, slow and clear so the rest of the bus could hear.

"Hero License

Hero Alias: Ratio

Name: Cid Kageno

Identification: 001789

Date Issued: 6/14/20XX

Date of Birth: 3/22

Quirk: Command T. "

She turned it over once, checked the back, then looked up at him.

"Ho-how. Ribbit."

"That's a full license," Sero finished, leaning over the seat in front of him. "Not a provisional one. A full real deal hero license." he said stunned

The reaction hit all at once.Mina made a noise that was half disbelief and half outrage. Kirishima's eyes went wide. "No way. That's insane" Questions and complaints stacked on top of each other to the point cid couldn't make out all of them. Aizawa didn't turn around, but Cid saw him slouch in his seat and pulled his sleeping bag further over his head trying to ignore the chaos or hide from it he was sure.

Momo turned around in the seat in front of him, with a curious look on her face. "When did you get that, Cid?"

"Around the time of the attacks during our internships," Cid said. He kept his tone even and short. "I was already in a certain program when I was younger. They pushed the paperwork through after Osaka."

That did not settle anyone. A few people kept pressing for info "what program", "why had no one mentioned it", "was that even allowed".

"Im not allowed to say anything other than that sorry." Cid lied casually, not wanting to make up a cover or anything complicated

Bakugo was still in his seat near the back. His hands were clenched on his knees, teeth gritted hard enough that the muscle in his jaw stood out. He didn't say a word. He just stared at the seat in front of him like he was trying to burn a hole through it.

Then Kirishima let out a short laugh and congratulated him saying, "I guess you got lucky then, good job man."

Cid's expression flattened and his good mood he had been in disappeared instantly. He looked out the window instead of at any of them and muttered, just loud enough to be heard, "Yeah. Lucky me."

-A few hours later-

The ride back to the dorms took them a while so they got back shortly after six pm. The class filed off the bus far quieter than they had boarded with thanks to the excitement dying down and their exhaustion catching up to them. Cid was the only one who did not look worn out. He stepped off last and casually headed inside while the others lagged behind.

The common room was already occupied with Class 1-B. They had beaten them back and a small group of them were gathered on the couches talking to each other happily. Cid immediately noticed Yui was among them and started walking her way. She had her bag at her feet and was turned toward Setsuna talking about something when she spotted him approaching. She immediately stood up, smiling wide enough that it reached her eyes and ran over to him.

"I passed," she said, already wrapping her arms around him. "I actually passed."

Cid returned the hug without hesitation and leaned down to press a short kiss to her forehead. "Never doubted you for a second."

She buried her head in his chest letting out a happy sound and pulled back about to say something. Before a loud voice from the entrance interrupted her.

Monoma's voice carried clearly from across the room. "Ha! Ha! Ha! I heard Class 1-A had two people fail, what couldn't keep up with 1-B, huh? Our whole class passed without a single issue. Guess you aren't the superior class after all."

He was laughing, which came off slightly deranged, as he spoke with arms spread like he was delivering a grand speech. A few of his classmates looked tired of him already while most of 1-A just stared, too drained to rise to it right away. But Bakugo looked literally a second away from exploding and Monoma's death was a real possibility at that point.

Cid glanced down at Yui, who was still tucked against his side watching. "Should I ruin his fun?"

She thought about it for a second. "No. Let him have this one for a second, Kendo will deal with him like she always does."

Monoma kept going. He turned his attention toward Cid specifically, still smiling. "And I heard the mighty Cid Kageno didn't even participate. What, were you scared or something? Bwahaha!"

Yui's eyes narrowed dangerously. "You know what? I changed my mind. Ruin him."

Cid rolled his eyes once, then lifted his free hand out of his pocket after a second. "Hey, Monoma. Catch."

He flicked the license across the room. It spun once and landed cleanly in Monoma's hands. Who caught it on reflex, still mid-laugh, then looked down puzzled. He read the card, stopped, and read it again. Then froze as his mouth opened, then closed, then opened again without any sound coming out.

Then like sharks that smelled blood, Mina, Kaminari, and Kirishima, attacked without mercy. "What wrong you got pretty quiet." "Yea cat got your tongue." " No, I'm pretty sure it was a Cid." They kept taunting in not giving him time to recover. Monoma's face stayed stuck somewhere between disbelief and the start of a protest he could not quite form.

Kendo walked up behind him while he was still staring at the card. Then without a sound she simply brought her hand down in a sharp chop to the back of his head. Monoma folded with a short, strangled noise and hit the floor.

The room went quiet for a second. Then Izuku bent down and picked up the license that had fallen at his feet. He walked over and held it out toward Cid, with trembling hands.

"H-here you go, Cid."

His voice was steadier than his expression. He looked more nervous than the situation called for. Cid noted it, but did not comment. He took the card back with a short nod. Izuku quickly stepped back avoiding eye contact with cid

"Thanks, Izuku." Cid said somewhat questioningly before turning to Yui. "You wanna go watch a movie or something?"

"Sure that sounds great, I need a bath and to relax after today." She said stretching slightly.

"Alright," he said, then turned to the others. "Well see you guys tomorrow, we're gonna turn in and watch a movie."

"Goodnight." They all replied.
