We were locked in this tense silence for a while until Lara finally opened her mouth, "Mr. Detective, y-you promised me that you would let me live with Aunt Claudia and Aurora. Please bring me there right now."
"Not yet, little girl. Your statement… you don't seem to be healthy right now, so we need another statement later after the doctor observes you, alright?" Detective Penn forced a smile, which I found to be pathetic, because he was desperately trying to find a way to invalidate a little girl's statement, even though Lara had gathered a lot of courage just so she could point out that her mother was the attacker.
But Lara shook her head instead, "Mr. Detective, I'm not lying. I'm also healthy. Mommy is the one who pushed me…"
"Lara!" Clarissa wanted to approach Lara to 'hug' her, but Lara reacted badly by trying to get away from her.
