Ray POV
I took a shower and freshened myself up after two hours of sleep. It wasn't enough, obviously, but I really had no time to rest when Claudia and Aurora were in the hospital, and Detective Penn told me that he'd come to interrogate Aurora in about an hour.
Claudia spent the entire night in the hospital, protecting Aurora and accompanying her even though the little girl said she would be fine. And without her around the penthouse, I finally realized how empty and desolate this place felt.
Everything was clean and orderly as usual, of course. But there was no sight of Claudia knitting on the lounge chair, looking up at me once I walked out of my room.
Then, she would help me fix my tie and then end it with a kiss on the lips.
No more sign of her making breakfast for me, and most importantly, I couldn't hear her voice at all.
