"Oh—that, haha…" I didn't know how to react every time Aurora hinted that she wanted Ray to be her father instead.
Aurora was very smart for her age. She picked up hints quickly, and she generally had a higher understanding of her surroundings. She was a great student who learned quickly, just like me when I was young.
But this trait also came at a cost, because it only took one small misstep for Aurora to unravel everything around her, including the situation between me, Miles, and Clarissa, and also the ambiguity between Ray and me.
Ray seemed to have changed from his previous self back when we dated. He was more expressive now, and also showed more kindness than before.
But was that really him, or perhaps it was nothing but a mask? After all, a man like him must wear a lot of masks in his daily life.
On top of that, I really doubt he'd actually marry a woman with an unclear family background and a pathetic married life before getting a divorce.
