Dexter Davenport held Kael Davenport, beaming so widely he couldn't close his mouth. "This child is so adorable. He looks just like his father. He reminds me of Alaric when he was little."
Rosalind Lowell smiled as she watched the little baby, her thoughts drifting.
'My plan was to wait for Skylar Morrison to pick me up, and I would leave with the baby. I was worried Alaric wouldn't like this child—after all, he doesn't like me. I was afraid the baby would be mistreated.'
'But seeing how much the old man loves his grandson... he won't be mistreated, no matter what.'
'After all, I alone could never provide what the Davenport Family can. The baby has a dedicated wet nurse and is fed a specially formulated, highly nutritious powder—even better than breast milk.'
'I don't need to worry at all. So leaving the child here must be the best choice.'
