Rosalind Lowell blinked and turned her head away. 'Being this close, smelling his scent... it's just too much pressure.'
Alaric Davenport got up and opened the door. "Get in the passenger seat."
Rosalind Lowell scrambled up awkwardly, strands of her damp hair sticking to her face.
'What did I do wrong?'
Alaric Davenport must have lost his mind. The moment she buckled her seatbelt, he slammed the gas pedal to the floor. The car shot forward like an arrow, blurring the scenery outside the windows.
She grew afraid.
"What's wrong with you? Don't drive so fast."
But he didn't react at all, as if he couldn't hear her. In fact, he drove even faster.
"Alaric... Alaric... I'm scared..."
Rosalind Lowell watched Alaric Davenport anxiously. "Alaric."
He finally hit the brakes, allowing the car to slow down.
Rosalind Lowell breathed a sigh of relief. After a long pause, she said, "Why don't we go to your villa? That way, we won't have to sleep together."
