Lianne wasn't in a hurry to open the door. When she'd changed the lock, she'd also installed a security camera by the entrance, which was connected to her phone.
The neighborhood was safe, sure, but a woman living alone mostly had to create her own sense of security.
Lianne stared at the image on her phone screen, her brow furrowed in confusion.
The man on the screen, standing tall and elegant while holding his suit jacket in one hand, was clearly Seth Sinclair.
'What's he doing here?'
Lianne decided to pretend she wasn't home and ignore the doorbell. She started walking toward her bedroom, phone in hand. But after only three steps, Seth's sharp gaze suddenly shot toward the camera on her screen. It was so piercing it felt like he was staring right into her eyes.
She stopped dead in her tracks.
'This guy is way too sharp.'
Lianne put her phone down on the coffee table. After a moment of deliberation, she went to open the door.
"What are you doing here?"
