Lianne glanced around, making sure no one was nearby before answering the relentlessly ringing phone.
She raised the phone to her ear and said politely, "Hello."
Seth Sinclair's flat voice came through the receiver. "I'm not doing well."
'What's wrong with the young master this time?'
Lianne didn't get him. Seeing as they were only connected by a phone call, she couldn't be bothered to argue. "Then I'm hanging up," she said. "I don't want you to ruin my mood."
Her tone was calm and flawless, but her words were like a talisman to ward off evil spirits.
Seth Sinclair actually laughed, exasperated. "You're heartless."
Lianne could hear a bit of noise in his background—footsteps, respectful greetings, and... the sound of wheels rolling across the ground.
She asked, "Did you need something?"
"I'm going abroad in a bit," Seth said.
