Ivy Holden lay in the RV, looking as if she were asleep, but in reality, her mind was crystal clear.
She had clearly heard the business van drive away, and she had even overheard the conversation inside.
Combining the snippets she'd heard from Leon Summers at lunch with the dialogue from the van, she guessed someone had been targeting her for a while now. Leon Summers's reluctant decision to hand over The Jade Pavilion was probably also at this person's behest.
'Who could it be? The Shaw Family?'
Her phone rang. Ivy Holden reached over, glanced at the screen, and answered the call.
"Did things go smoothly?" Jensen Morrison's voice came through the phone.
Ivy Holden sighed wistfully. "Extremely smoothly. Unexpectedly so."
"And that's a bad thing?"
"If it seems too good to be true, it probably is."
"Well, the fact that you've figured that out means you're not a complete fool."
"…Did you call just to pick a fight?"
"I got some information that might be useful to you."
