"Okay! Then I won't hold back!" Ivy Holden said, sticking her hand under Jensen Morrison's nose.
Jensen Morrison grabbed her hand. "I don't have it on me."
"Oh." Ivy Holden disappointedly pulled her hand back.
That flicker of disappointment was like an autumn breeze brushing past Jensen Morrison's heart.
"How about this: we'll go pick up Mr. Holden first. I left your gift at his house."
"Okay." Ivy Holden nodded in agreement.
Pleased with her response, Jensen Morrison wrapped an arm around her shoulder. They headed out, took the elevator to the parking garage, and then drove together to the academy residence to pick up Edison Holden.
Edison Holden was delighted to see his granddaughter. He took her hands and looked her over carefully, nagging, "You've gotten skinny again! Have you even been eating properly?"
"Grandpa, I've gained five pounds in the last few days! Where on earth are you seeing that I've lost weight?" Ivy leaned on her grandfather's shoulder, whining playfully.
