"I'm over here!" the boy called back.
A middle-aged woman emerged from the shadows. Seeing the little boy, she rushed over and asked anxiously, "Harvey, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, but my Gary is hurt," the little boy said.
"What? Gary's hurt?" The woman bent down to pick up the little dog, but the poodle dodged away with a BARK.
Seeing that the dog's owner had arrived, Ivy Holden helped Mr. Holden and turned to leave.
But to their surprise, the little boy, Harvey, ran over to block their path. "You can't leave! You hurt my Gary, so you have to pay up!"
Edison Holden said helplessly, "Kid, we didn't even touch your dog."
"I don't care! It was you! You're the ones who hurt my Gary! You have to pay..." The little boy shrieked at the top of his lungs, then burst into pitiful tears.
Ivy Holden asked, puzzled, "Where did your Gary get hurt?"
"Its leg is hurt..." the little boy said.
"Which leg?" Ivy asked.
"The front left leg."
Ivy smiled. "And how did it get hurt?"
