The amount lost was almost exactly the total Spiritual Power he had painstakingly gained through Meditation since advancing to Tier Two.
The Soul Fragment he had carved away had not only taken a part of his "self" but also the source of Spiritual Power associated with it.
And this loss of his Spiritual Power's source was most likely permanent.
