The look she gave Lynch instantly grew several times colder, as if ice were forming in her eyes.
She stood up.
"I'm tired. I'm going to get some rest." Her voice was ice-cold, as if she feared that if she listened any longer, she might lose control and do something irrational.
Without waiting for Lynch to reply, she turned and left the backyard, her steps hurried.
"Huh?" Lynch watched her leave, muttering in confusion. "Sea Song is acting a little strange today... Could it be her time of the month?"
He stroked his chin, lost in thought. 'I wonder if mermaids even get periods...?'
"Lord Lynch, you still haven't answered my question!" Eleanor's voice pulled him from his thoughts.
