Suddenly, the aftershock of a spatial tremor came from the opposite side, interrupting his thoughts. He turned to see a steel door open out of thin air—it was the door to the other arena.
A blue, humanoid creature with gills strode out, head held high. He looked remarkably like a salted fish that had grown long legs, yet his dead-fish eyes simmered with an intense arrogance, as if he alone was the most honored being in all creation.
