Samuel Summers collapsed heavily onto the sofa when he saw the notice of his termination.
He hadn't expected his scheme to be exposed so quickly.
He wasn't surprised to get a call from Aria Sterling, but he couldn't help the fear creeping into his heart.
"Mr. Summers, I expect you've received your termination notice. As for the reason, I'm sure you know it without me having to spell it out. I am fully aware of all your underhanded dealings and secret transactions. I'm not taking you to court only out of consideration for your pregnant wife and child. You'd best not break the law again in the future. If you do, no one will be able to help you."
Samuel Summers trembled as he listened to Aria Sterling, unable to utter a single word.
"The company will follow its termination procedure. You're on your own."
Aria Sterling hung up.
She sat at her desk, but she didn't feel as relieved as she had expected.
