This created a brief opening in the defense, allowing some Northern Soldiers to reach the top of the wall and immediately clash with the defenders.
Unfortunately, their numbers were far too few. Against the regrouped Spearmen on the walls and the Archers in the towers, they were quickly and utterly eliminated.
