Occasionally, he would hear a riddle that piqued his interest and would lower his head to ponder it for a moment, trying to guess the answer.
However, most of these riddles were about common gossip or scholarly witticisms. As he was usually focused solely on cultivation, he wasn't well-versed in such topics and usually couldn't guess correctly.
He could only shake his head with a smile and watch as other diners successfully shouted out the answers. He didn't feel disappointed, just found the lively atmosphere fun.

The middle-aged man announced loudly, "Fifth riddle! I have cities, but no houses. I have mountains, but no trees. I have water, but no fish. What am I?"
A customer at the next table raised his hand and shouted, "A map!"
The middle-aged man nodded, and a waiter jotted down the table number. A complimentary dish would be sent over later.
