The floor-to-ceiling windows looked out onto Crescent Lake. Egrets flew over the water's surface, their wings shimmering in the sunlight.
The second floor had three bedrooms. The master bedroom faced south and had a large terrace that overlooked the entire lake.
On the terrace were two lounge chairs with a small round table between them. On the table sat a pot of jasmine flowers—small, white, and faintly fragrant.
Lu Fan stood on the terrace, gazing at the distant lake. A cool breeze blew in from the water.
He smiled and said to Manager Sun, "This is the one."
Manager Sun was stunned for a moment, then his face blossomed into a wide grin, his voice trembling slightly. "Yes, yes, President Lu! This villa is in the best location in all of Jade Bay. It's the only one in the entire community on the lake's central island, offering excellent privacy and the best views..."
Lu Fan cut him off, his tone flat. "Paying in full."
