The Dragon Egg, engraved with the improved Dragon Pattern, absorbed Energy Particles with far greater efficiency. Natural energy absorption alone was no longer enough to satisfy the egg's demands, so Magic Stone Coins had to be added to the array every day to provide it with a source of energy.
"You're dismissed," Pei Ze said with a wave of his hand.
The Water Sprite was a little confused, but it obediently turned and left.
Pei Ze pushed open the door and walked into the room.
Before his eyes, the once perfectly round Dragon Egg was gone. In its place was a lizard-like creature, crunching and munching on the scattered fragments of its own eggshell on the ground.
Its entire body was damp, its scales as black as a deep Ghostly Shadow. They looked a bit soft, but as it ate, the scales were rapidly hardening at a visible rate. A pair of small, black, fleshy wings drooped from its back.
It was, unmistakably, a newly born member of the Dragon Race!
