Jasper Sherwood rested his forehead in his hand and mused, "Then can you fully awaken your bloodline and let me see your true strength?"
Nina Donovan gave a smile that didn't reach her eyes. "You want to see my full strength? I'm afraid you won't be able to hold on to that number-one spot."
Jasper's eyes curved into a smile. "If you're the one on top, I couldn't ask for more."
Nina: "..."
'There's something off about the way he talks.' She couldn't be bothered to deal with him.
But Jasper, in a complete reversal of his usual cool and distant image, was being exceptionally clingy. "Nina, what are we now?"
Nina didn't even look up from her practice problems. "Schoolmates."
Jasper: "..."
He frowned. "Can we narrow that down a bit?"
"Classmates?" Nina tilted her head to look at him.
Jasper was a little dissatisfied. "Is that it?"
Nina blinked. "What else? We could get a little closer."
His lips tensed. "Oh?"
"Desk-mates. Or, patron and servant."
