Chapter 27 - Before facts

The three of them stood on the sidewalk under the clear sky, looking miserable. Isabella arrived, could say her eyes nearly popped out of the moment she saw them from her window.

"What happened to you!" she cried in shock as soon as she opened the door and closed her phone, her distracted eyes going from Elizabeth to Emma and Lucas in disbelief.

"You don't know, Auntie, how much I missed seeing your face," Emma said, stepping forward to hug her, her features etched with comfort, burying her face firmly in this embrace.

Isabella's anxious eyes darted around Emma broken hand, a gasp escaping her lips. "Oh my God!" she clutched her tightly in her arms before fell onto her injured niece's bandage. She could hardly believe it, stunned to find herself frozen in even greater shock. "ELIZABETH!" She clutched her face with trembling hands. "Who...who...and who are you?" She addressed Lucas, who stood between them with a mocking expression. "Just a witness," he replied, even though he was being sarcastic. He sighed, relieved to know that at least this nightmare might finally end.

"This man helped us," Elizabeth murmurs to her before slowly turning to Hector, who is standing directly behind them. He is standing calmly with his gentle smile, freeing his hands from behind his back to step towards her, extending his hand. "Nice to meet you, miss Isabella," he says before continuing, "You could call me Hector...Retired eye doctor."

"I don't know how to thank you!" Isabella tells him, shaking his hand warmly as she gestures for them to get into a car. And so the three of them get into the car amidst many thoughts. Some think that no one will believe them if they tell what happened, while others think about their savior with the refined aura .. who happens to have the same eye color as the person Elizabeth is looking for. 'Unbelievable,' she says to herself as she watches them. There is a conversation going between the two of them before Hector takes out his business card and gives it to Isabella in front of her. Her conflicting thoughts narrow as she watches them like someone who is looking for any evidence and at the same time cursing himself for doubting such a person.

"Do you think one of the gang members is watching us?" Emma asks, sweating profusely as she looks out the window at the dark and silent street.

__"WHERE, where!"

"Do you see anyone?" Lucas shouts unconsciously, leaning backward in the chair, oblivious to the question. He seems about to disappear from the intensity of his shrinking.

"It's a question," Emma replies , his whole expression turns to annoyance as soon as he hears her, and he whispers, "Why didn't you say this from the beginning?" These two are definitely going to get into a heated argument, which is not the time for it ,they are already whispering to each other an argument now, and it wasn't long before Isabella returned. "Just let's get out of here! And you must explain everything to me, kids," she tells them, pressing the car engine with anger wrapped in clear feelings of concern, slamming the car door shut behind her.

"What's that card he gave you?" Elizabeth asks as the car moves on as Hector waves to them from afar; her eyes don't leave him until he disappears before she turns her gaze back to the road ahead.

Her aunt responds , glancing at the card, and says hesitantly, "It's just a business card. I think he works as a psychologist, but he told me he would be happy to treat you guys." She turns the card over in her hand and continues, " Good thing, i guess."

Lucas's lips curl up upon hearing these words, "Another round of delicious food, why not?" He pats his stomach again; nothing matters more than his gluttony.
