Gu Ning followed Windsor to the dessert shop Ah Mo had found.
The shop was far from the bustling city, tucked away in an alley. It wasn't large, but the decor was warm and bright. The semi-enclosed tables also offered good privacy. Even though the shop was quite full, Gu Ning and Cook didn't feel uncomfortable or cramped.
But what really helped Gu Ning relax was seeing other females in the shop. At the counter, a female wearing a colorful donut-shaped headpiece was asleep, her head resting on the surface. Beside her, two males in work uniforms, also wearing donut headpieces, moved deftly as they took orders and handled payments. They served the customers in hushed tones, as if afraid of waking her.
Sitting in the warm dessert shop, filled with a sweet, sugary aroma, Gu Ning suddenly had the illusion of being back in her old world.
But the illusion was shattered a moment later by a rabbit-eared Beastman server who arrived carrying a tray.
