Sonia Quincy quickly composed herself, lifted her head, and smiled at Lynn Preston. "Your brother was awake for a bit, but he's fallen asleep again. The doctor said he's out of the woods. He'll be fine once he's had enough rest and wakes up."
…Hearing Sonia Quincy's words, the anxiety that had plagued Lynn Preston the whole way here finally subsided. She raised a hand to her forehead and, on unsteady legs, slowly walked to Felix Preston's bedside, bending down to look at the man on the bed with his eyes tightly closed.
"Good. As long as he's out of the woods, that's what matters." She curved her lips into a faint smile, her voice as soft as a whisper. "Let him sleep. Let my brother sleep peacefully. Once he's had enough rest, he'll really be okay."
"Come and sit." Sonia Quincy patted the spot next to her. "He just fell asleep not too long ago. He probably won't be waking up anytime soon."
Lynn Preston nodded. "Okay."
