The house was suddenly two people short. Of course, they hadn't really been extra members of the household to begin with, but Ming Lingyi still found the place a little too quiet now.
Ming Lingyi decided this wouldn't do.
The next day, Ming Lingyi announced her intention to go out for a while.
"Are you familiar with Jiangnan? How can I not worry with you going out all by yourself?" Mrs. Ming said with concern, holding Ming Lingyi's hand. "Why don't you have your brother go with you?"
Ming Lingyi wanted to go look for Zhuang Ruyun.
She truly didn't know anyone in the Jiangnan area, aside from Zhuang Ruyun.
Ming Lingyi shook her head. "I'm a grown woman. It's just a trip out by myself; nothing will happen. Besides, Brother has his own affairs to attend to. Why should he always have to tag along with me?"
That very day, Ming Lingyi sent a letter to Zhuang Ruyun, though she wasn't entirely sure if it would even reach her.
