What… What was this?
A brief, dead silence was followed by an irrepressible, tide-like wave of murmurs.
Who was it? Who was that person on the roof?
From the rooftop, Ming Lingyi leaned against the railing, having had a perfect view of the moment of dead silence below and Li Yun catching the flower. The teasing smile on her lips faltered slightly, her fingertips twisting together unconsciously. 'I'm speechless,' she thought.
'He actually caught it. And so brazenly, too.'
The moment their eyes met, Ming Lingyi's hand, gripping the window frame, tightened slightly.
While others couldn't see it, she understood perfectly the profound depth in Li Yun's eyes.
Sure enough, less than a quarter of an hour later, the sound of steady footsteps echoed on the staircase leading to the top floor of the Ming Family Restaurant. Step by step, it felt as if they were treading on one's heart.
