'She was just worried about him, cared for him!'
Ming Lingyi avoided the ghastly wound, took a cloth, dipped it in warm water, and gently touched it to Li Yun's back.
Her movements were incredibly slow and gentle. The warm water trickled down the contours of his muscles, washing away the road dust and dried blood.
She didn't voice her concern, but seeing Li Yun, who had traveled a thousand miles without letting his wounds fully heal, stirred a complex mix of emotions in Ming Lingyi's heart.
Though Ming Lingyi was already being very careful, every touch made the muscles on Li Yun's back tense slightly. She was even more cautious near the wound, using only the edge of the cloth to lightly moisten the skin, afraid of causing him more pain.
"Tell me if it hurts," she said softly.
Li Yun didn't answer. He just leaned to the side, resting his head against the rim of the tub and closing his eyes.
"This is nice," he said after a moment, letting out a breath.
