A moment later, Ming Lingyi finally looked at him. "Your master is being childish, but are you, the one Li Yun placed by his side, childish as well?"
Cheng Yi: "I admit my guilt."
"Then what are you guilty of? Tell me," Ming Lingyi said, her face expressionless.
Cheng Yi: "When the Crown Prince wanted to leave the Capital City, I failed to dissuade him in time."
"Is that all?" Ming Lingyi was clearly not satisfied with his answer.
Cheng Yi: "And when the Crown Prince left the Capital City, he did so covertly, without a sufficient escort."
This too was his fault.
Ming Lingyi let out a soft laugh, as if she'd heard something funny.
"Is that all?" Ming Lingyi asked. "If you're unwilling to tell the truth, I'll have you kneel on this dock all night. The Crown Prince is unattended. Tell me," Ming Lingyi said coldly, "who can you possibly answer to for that?"
She knew she couldn't control Cheng Yi by threatening him directly.
