In the southwest corner of Divine Martial City, within a magnificent and imposing estate, a long pole held a high-hanging banner painted with a skull—the symbol of Fallen Valley.
The sky was dim, but the estate was already brightly lit with lanterns. Squads of Martial Artists, holding long spears, patrolled back and forth within the grounds, vigilantly scanning their surroundings. In the shadows, a few cold glints flashed; sharp arrowheads seemed ready to be loosed at any moment. The entire estate's security was so tight that not even a fly could get in.
All of a sudden, just as the patrolling Martial Artists turned their backs, a pitch-black shadow leaped into the estate like a bolt of lightning and vanished in an instant.
"Huh? Did you just see something?" one of the patrolling Martial Artists asked, seeming to have noticed something. He turned his head and looked around.
"See what?" the other Martial Artist asked, completely bewildered.
