Seeing Phoebe Ainsworth's utter confusion, Ian Hollis couldn't help but step forward to block his boss. "Miss Ainsworth," he said, feigning casualness, "Mr. Grant picked out today's fruit basket himself. It's filled with all your favorites!"
Susan Langley chimed in as well. "Yes, that's right! They were flown in from the mainland early this morning, so they're all perfectly fresh."
She didn't understand why Ian Hollis was suddenly being so obsequious, but that didn't stop her from playing along. After all, Shirley Thorne also had a special place on Susan Langley's shit list.
