The Underground Network
Hours later, the river finally carried them near an old railway bridge.
Victor helped Ariba climb out of the water.
Ryan collapsed on the ground.
"That was insane."
Victor looked around carefully.
"We're safe for now."
Ariba shivered from the cold.
"We can't keep running forever."
Ryan nodded.
"We need allies."
Victor stayed silent for a moment.
Then he said quietly,
"I know someone."
Ariba looked at him.
"Who?"
Victor replied,
"An underground hacker network."
Ryan's eyes widened.
"You mean the group called Ghost Circuit?"
Victor nodded.
"They hate the Architect."
Ariba asked,
"Can they help us?"
Victor answered calmly,
"If anyone can expose the Architect's empire… it's them."
Just then Ryan's phone vibrated again.
A new message appeared.
But this time it was different.
The message read:
"If you want the truth… come to Sector 9."
Ryan frowned.
"Ghost Circuit?"
Victor shook his head slowly.
"No."
"Someone else."
Ariba felt a strange feeling in her chest.
"Then who sent this message?"
Victor looked toward the dark city lights in the distance.
"I guess we're about to find out."
